Controversial Houston Kickstarter Project Featured on Wired

Patrick Hood-Daniel’s new Kickstarter, “Build Your Own Laser Cutter” project was featured on Wired.com yesterday. It seems that there is some controversy over whether his custom laser cutter kit is safe enough.  I actually saw his kit at the Houston 3DCamp and was impressed with the 3D puzzles that he was able to lasercut out of cardboard.  I think overall that Houston is growing a great Maker scene and I look forward to new innovative projects like this developed in Houston.
